Love for Jesus, care for the hurting and a heart for encouraging teens led Christian author Violet Barkley to tell stories as a way to build faith in God. Barkley learned digital-first journalism skills while covering schools, governments and first responders in northern Ohio. She is mother of four grown children and grandmother of three.

Life is an amazing adventure now that I'm taking the yoke of Jesus upon myself, and learning from him. On a bleak day of coronavirus lockdowns I was overwhelmed, frustrated and discouraged, so I asked how his "yoke is easy and (his) burden is light." After all, I've been a Christian since second grade and there I stood in tears with so much on the "to do" list and so little accomplished. Since that prayer, Jesus has been proving it. My challenge to you is to take the yoke of Jesus on yourself and learn from him. Rest well, friend.
